Melanie Orams is the artist, event manager, head workshop facilitator, and creative mastermind behind MeCo Macrame.
MeCo Macrame was founded in 2018 in the regional riverside town of Maclean, located on the northern coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Having left the teaching profession, Mel sought a creative career that would offer her the flexibility to work around the needs of her family and young children, whilst ultimately fulfilling her passions of calm, connection and creativity.
Macrame is a grounding and hands on craft that involves tying knots to create beautiful textiles such as decorative wall hangings to fashionable and fun accessories.
Guests describe MeCo Macrame workshops as fun, enriching and highly informative, jam packed with all the tips, tricks and techniques of the trade.
As a qualified and experienced teacher, Mel understands the value and importance of practical, visual and spoken guidance when it comes to learning a new craft. It's one of the reasons why she takes so much joy in teaching others.
MeCo Macrame offers regular macrame workshops and events for the young and the young at heart in the Yarra Valley and Mornington Peninsula regions of Victoria, Australia.
During school holiday periods, MeCo Macrame offers a Macrame for Kids program which is developed specifically for the younger creatives in our community. Our Macrame For Kids program caters for ages 8-14 and is suitable for any experience level, including complete beginners.
Whether you're new to macrame, wanting to upskill, or seeking a creative and hands on creative experience, Mel can create an experience to meet your needs.
